Copenhagen runs on a simple premise: life should be pleasant, and the city is built to prove it. The harbor is clean enough to swim in, the bikes outnumber the cars, and the pastry the rest of the world calls a Danish is here just breakfast. It's a capital that fits in your pocket — twenty minutes by bike gets you from a royal palace with the crown jewels in the basement to a street-food market on a converted industrial island.
It's also one of the easiest group cities in Europe. Nobody argues about taxis because nobody takes them; you rent bikes, ride together, and stop when something looks good. Come with four or six people in the long-light months, book the two restaurants that actually need booking, and spend the days the way Copenhageners do — outside, near the water, with somewhere to be only loosely in mind.

Tipping
You don't need to tip. Service is included in the bill by law and staff are paid real wages. Danes round up or add 5–10% for genuinely great service, and nobody counts. Card terminals will sometimes prompt you anyway — pressing 0 kr is completely normal, including for locals.
Safety
Copenhagen is one of the safest capitals in Europe — the biggest real hazard is the bike lane. It is not a wide sidewalk: stand in it and you'll meet a commuter doing 25 km/h. Look both ways before crossing one, and check for bikes before opening car doors. Watch bags around Strøget, Central Station, and Nørreport as you would in any city. In Christiania, follow the posted rules — no photos on the main street — and your visit will be perfectly easy.
